Virginia Union Equality Healthcare & Wellness Center

In response to the pervasive healthcare challenges negatively impacting
the Greater Richmond community, Virginia Union University, Capital Area
Health Network, and the Equality Equation will coordinate collaborative
investment towards the development of the Virginia Union University
Equality Healthcare & Wellness Center.

The VUU health and wellness center moves community wellness, for our
most vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens, into a space where healing
citizens become an economically viable function for community,
government, and private industry, and beyond checking the social impact
box for real estate developments.

Partnering with CAHN, an existing FQHC, will enable us the to begin
providing services under a FQHC scope without the need of an application
process for a new point of access. This helps us to begin serving citizens
as quickly as possible. It also allows us to mitigate construction cost as
well as give us an 80% construction loan guarantee from the federal
government. In addition, 96% of the operational costs are covered by the
federal government
